Chief Master Sergeant Phillip G. Hamre serves as Operations Senior Enlisted Leader, 352nd Special Operations Wing, Royal Air Force Mildenhall, United Kingdom. He provides leadership and guidance to more than 460 enlisted Airmen and is the advisor to the commander on issues affecting the unit’s health, welfare, morale, training, development, and utilization. He ensures his Airmen are prepared to support global special operations tasking anytime, anyplace. As the air component to United States European Command and Special Operations Command-Europe, the Wing employs 9 CV-22 tilt-rotor aircraft and 8 MC-130J aircraft to conduct infiltration, exfiltration, and resupply of Special Operations Forces in denied territory under adverse weather and night conditions. The Group also utilizes special operations Battlefield Airmen to conduct rescue, recovery, terminal control and assault zone operations.
Chief Hamre entered the Air Force in 1998 and has been assigned to Air Mobility Command, Air Education and Training Command, and currently Air Force Special Operations Command. A career loadmaster, he has been qualified on numerous C-130 variant aircraft to include the C-130E, C-130H, MC-130P, MC-130H, and the MC-130J, totaling over 4,200 flying hours. He has served in Operations IRAQI FREEDOM, ENDURING FREEDOM, and multiple humanitarian relief and contingency operations throughout Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean.
