Colonel DANIEL W. HARRIS

Colonel Daniel W. Harris is the Vice Commander, 352d Special Operations Wing, Royal Air Force Mildenhall, United Kingdom. He assists in directing operations of over 1,200 active-duty and civilian Airmen performing Special Tactics missions, MC-130J Commando II aircraft operations, and CV-22B Osprey aircraft operations for United States Air Force Special Operations in the United States European Command.

Colonel Harris received his commission through Reserve Officer Training Corps with a B.S. in Aeronautical & Astronautical Engineering from Purdue University in December 1998. With primary aviation experience as an AC-130 gunship navigator/combat system officer, he has deployed multiple times, to include the initial deployments for both Operations ENDURING FREEDOM and IRAQI FREEDOM. Colonel Harris has commanded at the squadron level and has served in staff assignments at Headquarters Air Force Special Operations Command, Resolute Support/United States Forces-Afghanistan and Headquarters United States Special Operations Command. He was born in Maine, raised in St. Louis, Missouri, and is married with a ten-year-old son.

Prior to assuming his current position, he was the Director of Safety at Air Force Special Operations Command, Hurlburt Field, FL.
