RAF Mildenhall, England --   The 67th Special Operations Squadron, assigned to RAF Mildenhall, and the 48th Fighter Wing, assigned to RAF Lakenheath, organized a two-day mission in order to provide realistic targeting training for F-15 pilots. The mission included launching a LUU-4/B flare from the back of an MC-130 J Commando ll so that F-15 pilots are given the opportunity to track, target and destroy the flare.

Although the primary use of the flares are for search and rescue missions, instead they were used for targeting practice due to an upcoming expiration date.
